Findnation's new website
We're pretty impressed here at Grazia Daily HQ. It is rare that on a murky Monday morning, an email pings into your inbox that provides an actual solution to one of beauty’s greatest dilemma - the incredibly arduous task of finding your perfect foundation colour, a chore that inevitably takes the fun out of makeup!
We for one have spent many a (very extended) lunch hour nipping to Selfridges, only to come back empty handed and looking like a multi-toned Pat Butcher. And don’t even talk about going online! With about 8,000 shades of beige, avoiding trekking to a store to find your hue is nigh on impossible… up until now.
New website Findation.com, is soaring to the rescue like a cosm etic superhero. This super snazzy site helps you find your matching colour, in brands you have never tried before, without going to a store. All you do is enter in shades you have worn previously and it uses an algorithm (AKA fancy maths) to recommend single shades in other products. Cool huh? Founder of the site and also Aussie cosmetics etailer Adorebeauty.com.au, Kate Morris explained, "I thought, wouldn’t it be great if there was a site that would tell you all the shades that were similar to what you were already using? There wasn’t one so I had to build it!" We like her thinking. Even better, the more users who enter their matches, the more accurate the site gets. So if you save your profile, when you return to the site, you will see a whole new bunch of recommendations. Well, you don’t get that in House of Fraser!
